The purpose of the Second Chances Expungement Clinic is to grant a chance to start over (a “second chance”) to persons convicted of certain crimes (juvenile, misdemeanors, and some felonies) by having the underlying criminal case re-opened by a court and dismissed by a judge “in the interest of justice.” Clinic participants can thereby pursue new opportunities, such as better employment. The clinic is free of charge.
